Memorial stone for the war victim Frans Verkleeren who was murdered here on 4 September 1944 at the age of 33. He was born in Saintes and was executed here. He was Chef du détachement de la 2e Compagniedes Partisans Armés du secteur du Brabant.
He is one of the three Verkleeren brothers.
His brother Gustave Verkleeren was arrested on 29 June 1944 and crossed to Breendonk. He died in March 1945 between Leonberg and Bergen-Belsen in Germany.
His brother Roger Verkleeren was also arrested on 29 June 1944, and transported via Breenkonk to Valhingen in Germany. He died on 22 January 1945 in Valhingen.
