Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Poor

The Shrine of Our Lady of the Poor in Trois Ponts is inspired by Our Lady of the Poor in Banneux.

On August 15th, the faithful of Trois-Ponts and the neighboring parishes are greeted with a celebration of the Eucharist.

Every year, alone or in groups, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims come to Banneux , especially during the Tridus of the Sick, to entrust to the Virgin their poverty, their sufferings, their pains and their quest. They come to entrust themselves to the Mother of the Redeemer and to express their trust and hope in the source of all grace, Jesus Christ.

For Mariette, even today, Our Lady of the Poor leads every pilgrim from Banneux on the path of existence. She invites him to "put his hands in the water of the well" to draw true life from Jesus.
Our Lady appeared to Mariette Beco several times between January 15th and March 2nd, 1933 in Banneux. The Marian apparitions were recognized in 1949 by Bishop Kerkhofs.
