Together with the province of West Flanders, the VLM has developed the Torwoud as a new recreation zone in Groenhove. It is a play forest annex meeting place, popular with young and old. Children will find a lot of adventurous play stimuli and a wet play area. This is part of a buffer basin that can collect up to 16,000 m³ of water from the Gaverbeek. In this way, it protects the east side of Torhout from flooding. A winding club path over the water, a grassy footpath around the pond and a long picnic table complete the picture.
