A short climb of 500m (average 5%) that starts at the bulbs (Satcom) and ends with a dead end. The road turns into a gravel path ... But the view over the region is phenomenal and makes the climb worth it.
This hill has its summit at 112m with a beautiful view of Brussels in the northwest, which is 20 km as the crow flies. In good weather, you can easily recognize the Atomium, the Basilica of Koekelberg, the VRT Tower and the dome of the Palace of Justice. The view in the other directions is also spectacular. The enormous television mast of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw is the most striking. To the south-east, the concrete tower of the Inclined Plane of Ronquières rises above the horizon.
A walk on site in the nature reserve of the Kesterheide with a visit to the IJzeren Man is one of the possibilities. This geodesic point is a landmark for mapmakers and surveyors.
