Good of Baarlevelde

"Het Goed van Baarlevelde" also so-called Boonstede (wrong). Already mentioned in 1604, formerly walled farm of the prelate of the Norbertine abbey of Drongen. Farm with loose components grouped around a large, partly grassy yard with a circular path and connected to the street by a driveway. To the north and east preserved moats.

Today broad house (west) of seven bays and one storey under gable roof (tiles, ridge parallel to the street) with anchored and cemented façade. Rectangular shuttered windows and small window added to the far right. Low rectangular door with lintel on corner consoles. Carved modillons under overhanging gable roof. The two stepped dormers were restored a few years ago. Also restored side gables with wall braids on shoulder pieces, in the left side façade, delineated with corner blocks, attic window with sandstone neg blocks, right side façade new, formerly with extension.
Inside, preserved or restored oak beams, on one of the ends of the nut beam dated "anno 1236"; restored fireplace in Gothic style. Reportedly in the bedroom (left travee) reused beams with coats of arms of Abbot Petrus de Blok and Willem Huys.
To the north, east and south, brick horse stables under hipped and gable roofs; this opposite the house is dated "A.T. Dael 1863" in a plaque above one of the doors. Eastern stable with older core.
