Marie Howet's house is at the roundabout in the heart of the village of Rochehaut.
Born in Libramont in 1897 , the painter was heavily inspired by Rochehaut , where she moved in 1931. She dialed number 19 rue de la Cense; There was a typical Ardennes house made of pieces of slate.
Marie Howet restored the building in 1937 with the aim of preserving the old character. The house is classified as a historic monument, like the church of Rochehaut.
She is considered one of the founders of the Vresse School.
His work is original, unique and diverse. He painted landscapes of the Ardennes, Greece or Italy, still lifes, nudes, portraits and flowers in gouache, oil, watercolour, charcoal or pencil. Each of his canvases reflects his love for life.
Many works can be seen at the Vresse Art Interpretation Centre.
