The Sint Pieter de Melreux church is an old collegiate church.
The Church of Melreux has seen many setbacks over the centuries. Rebuilt in the Middle Ages, restored in 1630 , it was rebuilt in two phases in the 17th century. The church and its surroundings are listed as exceptional heritage The area surrounding the church , cemetery, wall and large fortified farmhouse with the corner tower is listed as a Remarkable Landscape.
The interior does not match the simplicity of the exterior for its richness. The treasure of the sanctuary is a large silver statue of the seated Saint Peter giving his blessing to the faithful. Attached to this statue is a golden chest containing the relics of Saint Peter , donated by the Archbishop of Tarsus. The statue and relics of St. Peter can be seen during the procession celebrating the patron saint's day on June 29th.
