This limestone cross stands on the path along the Ruisseau de l'Agauche in memory of Jacques Joseph Gaillard (1789-1850)
van Menil-Favay, who died unexpectedly on his way back from the Faber mill in Hotton, with a heavy bag of flour.
As a farmer, he was married to Catherine Poirier. The couple had three children. He died on Monday 11 November 1850 at the age of 61.
The path, which in the spring is decorated with the flowers of bear's garlic, rises steeply here in a certain place... This probably killed him.
