A tribute to eleven forest rangers who died during the First World War, this memorial consists of eleven standing stones, a kind of menhir, gathered around a megalithic portico, reminiscent of a dolmen. Everything is imbued with contemplation, far from the usual patriotic flurries. The complex was erected in 1920 by Richard Viandier in a rather strange stone, called Poudingue de Wéris, a kind of conglomerate made of pebbles linked together by a natural cement reminiscent of concrete.
