The airport of Saint-Hubert is the center of gliding. The runways are completely on grass.
The airport has a training center (gliding, microlight, light aircraft) and a maintenance workshop. The National Gliding Center is also located at the airport.
Les100ciels is a brasserie and hotel at Saint-Hubert airport. A beautiful terrace gives a nice view of the activities at the airport.
A little further there is a military airport. From 1952, at the request of NATO, six reserve airfields were built in Belgium (Bertrix-Jehonville, Malle-Zoersel, Ursel, Weelde, Zutendaal and Saint-Hubert). SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, NATO's central command center) drew up a number of criteria for these alternative airfields. Saint-Hubert, however, did not fully meet these standards. For example, there was no parallel runway suitable for emergency situations.
