Le moulin de Purnode-Lamy - Crupet

The Purnode-Lamy Mill is located at Rue Basse, 8-9 in Crupet, near the castle with its impressive keep.

The "Purnode-Lamy" mill spreads its long sandstone facade right next to the confluence - now canalized - of the Vesse and the Crupet. Despite a certain homogeneity, it is the result of four major construction phases that followed each other over a period of thirty years, between 1862 and 1893 .

The oldest part of the building is the mill itself, which has four degressive levels, with five bays of brick-framed round-arched windows. To the left of the ground floor, in the parapet formed by two large low bays, in a small arch niche is the inscription: " STE CATHERINE / PPN 1862": the saint, martyred by two wheels armed with sharp knives, is of course the patron saint of the millers .
