1. New wing City Hall

You start on the Grote Markt at the new city wing - De Stadswinkel -, a project that started in 2019 and is of great significance for our services. On the easily accessible ground floor there is a central reception, express and theme desks and the tourist information office. Above it are three archive blocks - the new city archive - a special technical feat. On the 1st and 2nd floor are the workspaces for the back office employees. The reception room with spacious terrace gives a beautiful view of the market square. The building has been constructed as sustainably as possible, with many energy-efficient applications. Under the concrete of the underground bicycle shed there is a real BEO field, to cool or heat the building via geothermal energy.

Drive to the right, to turn through the Parkstraat and the O.L.V. square (no. 5) into the gate (under restoration) of Vakschoolhof.
