The start of the walk is at the Wezemaalplein, where you can also park your car. We leave along the Sint-Martinuskerk and the accompanying presbytery site. After 1 km we turn into a field road that leads us to the Wijngaardberg. The Wijngaardberg is a combination of vineyards, orchards, forest and heathland. At 1.5 kilometers we start the ascent of the Wijngaardberg. For this we take winding, steep roads. 500 meters further we pass the historic building 'the wine wall'. We continue walking over the mountain and take the dip down between the vineyards at 2.5 km. But about 200 meters away we are already climbing. Halfway through the climb you pass a very beautiful picnic area with a view of the vineyards and a vast panorama over the Hageland. Definitely worth stopping and enjoying. 4.5 km on the way and we walk on a hollow road that gives a view of the Leuvensesteenweg at the end. Now we come to the toughest part of the walk. A steep climb of 600 meters to the highest point of the Vineyard Mountain. The walk continues along hollow roads and forests. At 7 km we pass the "Devil's Pit", an abandoned iron sand pit. Just before we leave the Wijngaardberg we come across an impressively large Sacred Heart statue. The statue of Christ extends his hands protectively over the village. A piece of religion where you can relax for a while. We walk further down the Wijngaardberg and arrive 500 meters further back at the Wezemaalplein. The walk was a total of 7.5 km.
