During the difficult covid period, walking in one's own neighborhood became popular. The municipality of Tremelo decided to install some extra benches. The village poets Gerard Cornelis, Greet Van Moer and Nanou De Meyer wrote a poem for each bench about the place where they stand or about the atmosphere that the environment evokes in them. The initiative to let village poets have their say ran from 2014 to 2019.
