Description

This modern neo - Gothic style church was built in 1935 according to the plans of the architect Paës de Spa .

Initially, the bell tower was to be placed to the left of the choir, but eventually for reasons of stability due to the stream, the Soyeureux , very close to the building, it was built on the right.

The portal is surmounted by a beautiful color fresco by the sculptor-decorator of Spa, Léon Decerf. The baptistery is in the form of a small side chapel, to the left of the entrance.

In 1935 , Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus (1873-1897) had just been canonized and her image was more favorable with donors; it is no doubt for this reason that she was chosen as protector of the new church of Nivezé.
