This is the first of the seven works by Joseph Gillain, known as Jijé , on the avenue leading to the Chapel of Our Lady of Haurt.
It shows Mary with Simon at the entombment of Jesus.
These works are from the beginning of his career as an artist-draughtsman (1935) . The stations have an Art Deco aspect . The scenes are in colored cement with a light relief and provided with a text.
