Opposite the church is an old fortified house that testifies to the medieval past of the village.
Its location near the church indicates the importance of its status. The enormous thickness of the walls of 1.6 meters and the presence of large square rubble stones in the bedrock prove the defensive role of the village. Other features on the left flank show traces of mediaeval bays with two probably original relief arches.
Constructed of limestone and sandstone rubble , the building has undergone a number of alterations, particularly in the 19th century when it was converted into a vicarage.
Today, this former fortified house looks like a large two-storey dwelling on high cellars and three bays with round lintels and keystones.
Access to the house is via a high, double staircase decorated with a wrought iron railing. The letters "D/LJHSM /H" are in a diamond-shaped pattern. These embody the dual language of symbolism and decoration. The initials underline the owner's desire to leave his mark over time. The monogram "JHS" reflects the religious invocations and name of Jesus associated with his former position. It is visible from the public space and says it all to anyone who approaches the house.
Above the entrance door is a wrought iron transom window with the date "1839", attesting to the building's rebuilding date.
