Eglise Saint-Remi - Huy

The building was built in 1742 on the foundations of a primitive temple. After 1885, 18 stained glass windows were installed in the nave.

Although very simple, the facade looks baroque . In contrast to this austerity, the interior bears witness to a rococo style that is clearly recognizable by its ornamentation.

The chevet has a special feature: a base of grooved rubble stone. The main facade is interrupted by a semicircular portal and a modeled niche with a statue of Saint-Rémy from Reims. The typical roof of the bell tower was made "imperial".

The entire building has one element in common: the flooring. It appears that Denée marble was used. Square black slabs lie next to white marble slabs. In the inner chapel you will see a statue of Saint Remi from the 15th century.

Four altars were built there:

1. Altar of Saints Andrew and Hubert

2. Altar of Saint Anthony, existing in 1627

3. Altar of Saint Michael, founded in 1450

4. Altar of Saint Catherine, founded in 1537
