The Saint-Hadelin Fountain is not really a typical fountain or spring
It is called a 'fountain' because the inhabitants of Celles came there to get running water until 1957 , when mains water was installed throughout the village. It is simply a re-emergence: the water is that of the Ruisseau de Conjoux , which has flowed almost three kilometers underground before resurfacing here. The flow can increase tenfold during periods of flooding.
This fountain bears the name of the saint of the same name because, like him, it is said to be the source of many miraculous cures ... In the past, many people came on pilgrimage to cure (or prevent) childhood diseases.
