This cross stands next to a bench in Hénumont.

It is a wooden cross with a crucifix in a small granite base with two dates 1868-1870.

This is what is known as a crossroads cross . This Christianization of an intersection serves two purposes : to encourage travelers to pray and to debunk the popular belief that intersections were meeting places for witches on their way to the Sabbath.
