Kaiser-Karl-Weg

The hike begins and ends at the church parking lot in Konzen. At many of the 17 stations and locations, young and old can "experience, conquer and learn" about the former hunting grounds of Emperor Charlemagne, both in a natural setting in the High Fens and historically with the royal court and the Pankratius Chapel (the oldest post-Roman monument in the Rhineland). Along the way, you will not only have plenty of opportunities to search for clues, play, tinker, pause and romp around, you will also receive specific information about the theme trail itself, some of the history of the legendary "Boden" and the landscape in the region. There are seven information points and five activity stations, as well as two history boards and three question boards.

Charlem seals attached to prominent points indicate that you have taken the right path and accompany you throughout the German-Belgian border region, on both sides of the Vennbahn route and on the edge of the High Fens, that impressive and unique landscape.

With a total length of 8.7 km, the large Kaiser Karl theme trail is a leisurely tour lasting several hours on paved paths and trails. You can also choose a medium route of 7.5 km or two shorter variants of 5 and 4 km.</p
