The Sniederspad connects Antwerp (Deurne) and Bladel in North Brabant, the Netherlands. The name of this GR trail was given in honor of two writers, the Snieders brothers, who were contemporaries of Conscience. The path connected their birthplace Bladel with the place where they worked (Antwerp and Turnhout).
This historic path leads you in a classic GR way with a fairly straight route through the Antwerp Campine from West to East.
The GR 565 is a section of a European hiking trail E2 "North Sea Riviera". This route starts in Scotland and ends in Nice, on the Mediterranean Sea. The route of the E2 in Flanders is largely formed by the GR 5A South from Ostend to Antwerp. The GR E2 forms the connection with the Rivierenhof. In Deurne the E2 then follows the white-red track of the GR 565 "Sniederspad" to the Boshuisje in Zoersel. Here it connects to the GR 5 and via Diest it continues to the surroundings of Liège, towards Luxembourg and France.
The Sniederspad originally led over Arendonk. This variant is a reminder of this. The route allows you to shorten the route and/or enjoy yet another aspect of the Kempen.
