Adventurous trouser walk in Zammel

Appointment at the parking lot of the church on the Eindhoutseweg in Oosterlo (Geel) KP 55 can be found at the church on the steenweg. Continue on to KP 55 and turn left into Molenlaakpad towards KP 423. You walk between meadows and choose on KP 423 diagonally left, direction KP 181. Turn right at the T-junction and then continue through a number of twists and turns and a few large puddles to the Grote Nete. Follow it to the right. You can enjoy the meandering river for a long time. The dike is unpaved and you will not be bothered by cyclists. On KP 181, continue straight ahead, towards KP 53.

you walk straight on until you reach KP 53 at the footbridge. Shortening: cross the bridge and follow the Grote Nete to the left. Via the marshy, Zammelse Buitenbroek, you walk further to KP 52. For the full walk, continue following the winding Grote Nete until KP 217. Climb up to the N127 and follow it on the cycle path to the left, towards KP 330. Not the most beautiful part of the walk, but a necessary connection. On KP 330, go straight ahead, towards KP 44. Then turn left and leave the busy road. You step along the edge of the forest and at the fork take the drive on the right with a beautiful tree chapel on the left. At the intersection with an asphalt road you come to KP 44. Continue straight ahead until KP 152. Step left over the low barrier, towards KP 326.

Walk through the forest to the first quadrangle. Turn left and further right until the Grote Laak. Cross it via the footbridge and you are on KP 326. Turn right, direction KP 327. Then turn left onto the first forest road. You walk along the Kleine Laak and the path becomes rougher. On the other bank is a large lake. Follow the signs of the walking network and the blue rectangle of Natuurpunt to the left. Then you come back to a meander of the Kleine Laak. Choose the somewhat unclear, wide grass path on the left and step along a large grassy plain and the edge of the forest. After a bend you come to a wide field road and step past a corn field to a T. Turn left, past a riding school to KP 327. Turn left again, direction KP 157. You walk through the yard of the restored Sint-Bavohoeve from 1712.

At an information board of Natuurpunt about the Trichelbroek, turn right and follow the road next to the meadow. You go into the forest and plod through the mud in rainy weather, because the bat path is rather adventurous and finally just stops. Fortunately, the bridge you have to cross has remained intact. Continue to a wide concrete road. You are now at FP 157. Turn right, direction KP 52. At the fork at an Aveve, choose the left. Ignore the Sint-Bavostraat on the right and turn left at a chapel into the Netestraat. Walk past horse stable Artemis to KP 52 and turn right into Huisbroekstraat, direction KP 182. During the breeding season, a sign here warns of aggressive buzzards. On KP 182 you walk straight ahead, towards KP 55. Just after the junction, turn left into the path with the tall grass and then head into the forest. You are now almost on the Grote Nete. When you reach it, turn right until you reach the departure point.

After prolonged rainfall, it could be that you come to a 'drowned' part, where there is no getting through. In that case you have to return to the Huisbroekstraat. Follow it to the left until the end and turn left there. At the first intersection turn left again and then continue straight until the starting point
