Description by the author

The walk is 16 km long (with 2 possible shortenings of 2.5 km) and in dry weather suitable for buggies but not for wheelchair users.
This walk takes you through the southernmost part of the Hageland. An area that is fully signposted with hiking nodes, which we make good use of. Start the walk at the Sint-Cyriacuskerk of Budingen in the Terweidenstraat and follow the track towards Zoutleeuw. After about 50 meters of walking you reach KP 337. You continue to follow the road, towards KP 340. A little further, at the zebra crossing, you cross the lane and continue walking on the left. At the level of the bridge you pass the confluence of the Grote and kleine Gete.
Always keep following this lane until you can turn left at signposts towards Ossenweg and Sint-Truiden into the Klipstraat. At house number 8 turn right to KP 340. Via a beautiful walking path - with the first orchards - you reach KP 340. Turn left here to KP 341. Cross the track at KP 341 and follow Hof ten Rhode, direction KP 428. At a large farm just to the right and a little further left again. Keep following the walking path between the trees. You cross the Graasbeek and a little further you turn left. From here you have a beautiful view of the church of the hamlet of Grazen. After a small piece of paved road turn right, back into the field. You walk straight in the direction of orchards, but stay to the right of the ditch. Keep following the signs to KP 428, which will lead you right through the orchard. Via the Kerkeveldweg you end up in Grazen, at KP 428.
Here a first shortening of 2.5 km is possible if you walk to KP 427.
For the full course, turn right in the Vijverstraat, to KP 424. You walk around Grazen. Keep following FP 424. At the Mariakapelletje turn left into the Orsmaelstraat. Walk to the orchard and turn right there, the Roosehoedweg. Turn left at the corner of the orchard, before the wooden bridge. A little further left again and on the track turn right. You cross the Melsterbeek and after about 70 m you turn left On the right side you will find what remains of the old Orient Abbey. Through this beautiful drive you reach KP 424. Turn left here to KP 425. You end up on a larger road and walk straight ahead, past the monumental Hoeve Vinckenbosch on your right.

Continue to KP 425 and turn left towards KP 426. You walk through a very beautiful area past the Grazenmolen, a watermill on the Melsterbeek. Through a self-opening gate you go through a sheep pasture in the direction of the St. Anne's Chapel, better known as the Piskapel. According to tradition, Saint Anne could help with problems with bed watering. On the left you can see the striking radio beacon FLORA, which supports aircraft in their approach route to Zaventem.

Continue to FP 426. Here diagonally right towards KP 427. From KP 427 to KP 45, where you cross the Gete and so on to KP 4 in Geetbets. On the left side of the church, in the garden of the old rectory, it is worthwhile to take a look at the majestic Ginkgo Biloba, one of the oldest of these tree species in Europe. Back to FP 4, to the right and a little further left, towards KP 40.

From here a second shortening can be made. From KP 40 you then walk to KP 46 and so on to KP 336 and KP 337 and the church of Budingen.

For the entire route, follow the Grootveldweg to KP 429 and further between the orchards, to KP 41. Turn right here onto the paved road to KP 46. Via the Rhodestraat and the Overbeekstraat you come again between meadows and that's how you reach KP 46. Continue walking to KP 47 and continue straight on to KP 333. Here turn left between meadows and orchards to KP 334. From KP 334 to KP 335 it is only a short walk. Turn right here, next to the Budingen football field, direction KP 338. Turn left past the football field. Furthermore, at the height of a school building, you cross the roadway and between the fields you go to KP 338. On the way you cross an old railway line that has now been transformed into a cycle path. At a chapel you reach KP 338. Here you keep walking straight ahead, into the Molenstraat, direction KP 337. Turn left at an old farm building. A little further you step next to the Grote Gete and soon you reach KP 337. From here it is just to the left until the church of Budingen.
