I highly recommend Herisem to walk. Full of variety: nature, forest, unpaved roads, nostalgic paved sections, forest, pasture, water, cultural heritage,... It's all there. And in Alsemberg you can always have a drink in one of the catering establishments.
In the middle of the green of the Molenbeek valley, you come across the Herisemmolen. It is a pearl of industrial archaeology, one of the best-preserved examples of the once thriving paper and board industry in the region.
