Route description

Starting from Riddes, the road heads towards the village of Isérables then turns towards the mountain resort of La Tzoumaz that is part of the 4 Vallées domain. The Dent de Nendaz, the Mont Gond and the Mont Gelé make up the panoramic view that will accompany you during the first kilometres of the climb. As you leave La Tzoumaz, the road begins to wind its way up the mountain with a dozen switchbacks that lead you to the summit of the pass. The last section takes place on an unpaved road that will allow you to reach the top of this open landscape above the Val de Bagnes and the village of Verbier.
The road to the Col de la Croix de Cœur from Riddes is part of a series of Valais climbs that includes sections of un-paved road. This ascent is perfect for gravel bike lovers and road bike experts. You will reach the top from the Rhone Valley side, while the other side leaving from Verbier is well-known as the first climb in the Grand Raid mountain-bike race. The road is in excellent condition until La Tzoumaz, then transforms into a dirt road with a series of impressive curves all the way to the pass. The view over the opposite valley is extraordinary, where you can admire the Grand Muveran and the Grand Chavalard all in one glance!
