Mount Kailash is considered as a physical representation of the legendary "Axis Mundi" or the Axis of the World. This axis is an ancient concept that indicates that there is a central connecting line between the visible and the invisible, the world and the celestial sphere or spheres. It is the central line around which everything revolves, literally and figuratively. The shape of Mount Kailash is very typical. The mountain has a 4-sided shape, almost a pyramid. This contributed to the legend of this mountain. Not coincidentally, this is a holy place for 4 religions, such as the Bön religion, Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.
