The Black Path camp in Wilhelmshaven was used from early August 1941 to October 1944 as a prisoner of war camp of the Wehrmacht for Soviet prisoners of war, and from late 1944 to May 1945 as a penal camp of the Gestapo for Dutch police detainees who were used as forced laborers.
