The Westerberg is the highest point of Die Baumberge, a ridge running from Coesfeld to Havixbeck. The summit is at an altitude of 187 meters. Just south of the Westerberg rises the river Stever. On the plateau at the top of the Westerberg is a TV transmitter mast of the WDR, and the longinusturm lookout tower built of sandstone.
From the Steverdal you can climb the Westerberg via two roads, these roads largely go through a beautiful beech forest and gradients reach a maximum of 13% here.
