Quellengrundpark Weseke

In the Quellengrundpark of the Weseker Heimatverein e.V., you can immerse yourself in the 4.5 billion years of earth's history with a walk through the geological garden. Fossils from all eras of the earth can be found in many display cases.
Geological Garden

The geological garden traces the course of the entire history of the earth. The basic idea is to represent the 4.5 billion years of the earth's history according to a 24-hour day. Visitors and viewers enter a land clock with a diameter of 6 m, on which the age of the earth is represented in natural stone pavement, analogous to a day. The dial contains 24-hour stones. Until 11 a.m., veterans ruled (here only in the form of a roughly crystalline sidewalk). The first geological period lasts until about 21 hours and only then do the geological formations of the Paleozoic, the Middle Ages and the Modern period follow. The different training segments lead, through their radial extensions in the open space, to the 2nd part of the educational garden. The viewer will find the history of plant development illustrated by living and growing examples. If you want to go further, you will find an introduction to family trees and a brief description of the history of plant development in a display case.

At the beginning of the tour, the viewer can discover rocks, minerals, crystals, the structure of the earth, the different types of rocks, the movement of ice floes, etc. in a shop window.
