The Residenz was the palace of the Princebishop. This unique building is protected and classified by the World Heritage program of Unesco. The palace is a fine example of the South German Baroque style, dating from 1720-1744. The design was of the hand of Balthazar Neumann, who is burried in the Marienkapella of this town. The palace has the biggest ceilig fresco made by the Venetian Tiepolo.
