Border Hiking Trail to the Heideberg Tower

Walk along the old 1815 Saxon Prussian border, starting between Merzdorf and Gröden at boundary stone number 175 and ending at Ortrand with boundary stone number 160. The boundaries were redrawn in Europe following the Wars of Liberation after the years of Napoleonic oppression in 1813. The Final Act was signed in 1815 and the new boundaries entered into force. The northern part of the Kingdom of Saxony was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia, as was the territory of the Schradenland.
