Traumschleifchen Fischerberg

Traumschleifchen are premium walking trails, circular routes with short distances and little elevation gain

The trail is characterized by very little incline with a high proportion of paths, but also easy-to-walk field paths as well as wonderful views and the hike in a landscape conservation area with its special fauna and flora.

We start our hike at the Fischerberghaus and tackle the leisurely hike clockwise without any particular incline.Through beautiful mixed forest past several Westwall bunkers and a magnificent view towards Fremersdorf into the Saar valley and the Vosges foothills, we reach a rest area with a bench with a view towards Merzig after approx. 2.5 km. After about 600 m, we reach the highest point of the trail (387 m) via a wide path and from here we have a wonderful distant view of the northern and western Saarland (Schaumberg, Göttelborner Höhe, etc.). The remaining approx. 1500 meters lead through wide orchid meadows, past the rams (hydraulic pumps) created for the cattle for the water supply, always with a distant view of the Schaumberg or further Saar views back to the Fischerberghaus.
