E-Velo-Tour Hochwald-Idyll

The Saarland Hochwald is the southernmost foothills of the Hunsrück. Forests, meadows and fields dominate the landscape and cyclists are often treated to impressive views.

The e-cycle route begins at the market square in Wadern. Surrounded by historic and modern buildings, this square is the most beautiful of its kind in Saarschleifenland. The route leads through open countryside via Morscholz to Weiskirchen. This climatic health resort boasts a spa park and the Haus des Gastes. A short detour to the wildlife and hiking park is worthwhile. The route then alternates between forest and fields before finally reaching the Losheim reservoir with its wide range of leisure activities. Numerous restaurants and cafés invite you to take a break here. The e-bike loop then leads through the town of Losheim with its railroad museum and then into the Haustadt valley with a few descents and climbs. Here you pass through Hargarten, Reimsbach and Oppen, the northernmost districts of the municipality of Beckingen. Past the legendary Odilien Chapel, the route leads through the Lückner forest. It then passes the Forsthof with its beautiful beer garden and the Weiherhof golf park with its panoramic restaurant terrace in Nunkirchen. The last section of the e-bike tour leads through the valley of the young Prims towards Wadern. Shortly before the finish, Dagstuhl Castle and fortress offer the opportunity for a final stop. The final drink tastes particularly good on the market square in Wadern.
