SB8 Kleine Steillagen-Tour

The Katzenbeißer steep slopes on the Neckar between Lauffen and Neckarwestheim are the backdrop for this scenic walking trail.

The tour starts at the Roman estate between the Hölderlin & wine town of Lauffen a.N. and Neckarwestheim. The restored foundation walls of a "villa rustica" provide an interesting insight into the way of life on a Roman agricultural estate. On some Sundays and public holidays, the Lauffen winegrowers run a wine bar here.

A magnificent view is guaranteed on a walk above the steep slopes. At the Krappenfelsen, an interesting rock formation in the middle of the vineyards, you have a particularly beautiful panoramic view. The trail continues through the vineyards and fields near Neckarwestheim. The rest area at Herrlesberg with a barbecue area and playground is ideal for a break with a snack you have brought with you.

The trail leads directly along the Neckar, now with a view of the impressive steep slopes below, back to your starting point.
