Tour de Waldkirch - Nord

A varied circular tour in and around the organ town of Waldkirch with many beautiful panoramic views. The Ritterweg also takes you to Kastelburg Castle.

Our tour starts at the market square in Waldkirch. We soon reach the Ritterweg via the Jünglingssteg and past the train station, which leads us up to Kastelburg Castle. There we enjoy the magnificent panoramic view over the Elz valley to the Kandel and Schwarzenburg. The town of Waldkirch lies picturesquely at our feet.

Back at the Burggraben, we find the stamp station for this tour and the trail markings for the ZweiTälerSteig and the Kandelhöhenweg at the hut. We follow these on a narrow forest path to the "Waldkircher Haseneckle" with a wonderful view over the Kohlenbach valley to the Lindenbühl. On a flat path, we now head over to the "Tannenwiese" meadow with the Kolping cross and through beautiful mixed forest to the "Eulenrank". A little further downhill and we reach the "Obere Hütte", which is ideal for a break.Our next stop is the "Flötze" and then the Schützenhaus in Buchholz. Now we walk in the direction of Waldkirch to the Batzenhäusle train stop. There we cross the railroad line and cross the Elz on the Langmuhrsteg footbridge. On the right bank of the river we come to the "Galgenbrücke" and past the school center to the "Adenauerbrücke". We continue along Schlettstadtallee to Jünglingssteg and through Engelstraße back to the starting point of our tour at the market square.
