Pilgern im Remstal (6): Wein und Reben - Grunbach bis Waiblingen

"Wine & Vines" - the route could not be more aptly summarized. Vineyards and wineries as far as Weinstadt, then the route continues leisurely along the Rems.

After just a few meters, you walk through the middle of the vineyards - only in Weinstadt (what else should the town be called) do you cross a district: Großheppach. The town's coat of arms describes the route perfectly: it shows vines and above them a blue ribbon, the Rems. The tour leads through the largest vineyard area in the Rems valley with beautiful views of the Schurwald forest and as far as Fellbach - after an initial ascent in Grunbach, the route is easy on asphalt paths. In Großheppach you then meet the Rems, which flanks you all the way to the finish. At the beginning on the Remstal cycle path, then on smaller paths directly along the river.

In addition to the vineyards and the Rems, special places make this tour appealing, whether it's the Luitenbächerhöhe, a viewing platform in the middle of the vineyards in Weinstadt, or the Mühlwiesen in Großheppach directly on the Rems. At the finish, it is definitely worth taking a break at the Talauesee lake in Waiblingen before continuing on to St. Michael's Church.
