This stage of the Rems Valley pilgrimage is characterized by a mixture of culture and nature. Artistic and historical treasures at the beginning and end of the route - and in between paths through the forest, viewsAt the very beginning, St. John's Church bears witness to the height of Staufer rule. The entire old town tells of times gone by. From St. Salvator you have a view of the Stauferland with its 3 Staufer mountains and soon you have reached the highest point with 433 meters of altitude and at the same time a piece of the past again if you follow the Limes hiking trail for a short time. The path leads through forests, past meadows to the Rotenbach valley. With an ascent of 118 m and a descent of 157 m into the valley, the path is not really challenging and the paths are easy to walk on, but in addition to 4.2 kilometers of gravel, 3.3 kilometers have to be covered on asphalt, a short stretch parallel to the main road. In the valley, pilgrims are accompanied by the Rems - but also by many cyclists.
