With its 7 kilometers, the tour is ideal for families. Not only the Pfannwaldsee lake and the observatory are interesting, but also the adventurous stories surrounding the Galgenhohle.

The hiking tour is perfect for combining with an additional highlight: be it a guided tour of the observatory or a barbecue event at the forest barbecue/playground.

The tour starts at Pfannwaldsee lake - where you can observe aquatic animals; continue to the Kneipp facility for refreshment. Through the densely overgrown Pfannwald forest (past the barbecue hut and forest playground) and the beautiful meadow landscape in the "Kleiner Kraichbach" nature reserve, you soon reach the Galgenhohle. The steep loess walls of the cave quickly rise up to an impressive 13 meters. Once you reach the end of the Galgenhohle, you have a great view of the Katzbach and Kraichbach valleys from the ridgeway. The next stop is the observatory, which can be reached a few meters from the actual route via a beaten path. The impressive, large-scale astronomy park of the Kraichtal observatory is located in the middle of fruity vineyards. Planet models explain our solar system to visitors. You can even crack an "astronomy safe": simply take out the quiz sheet and go in search of the answers. From the observatory you have a wonderful view of the beautiful Kraichtal valley. On a clear day, you can see the northern Black Forest in the distance. Return via the trail to the circular route. A beautiful forest path with tall trees takes you downhill back to the starting point, the Pfannwaldsee.
