Plochinger Bergtour - Wald und Streuobstwiesen (Tour 2)

This varied hike leads through forest and meadow landscapes up to the observation tower of the Swabian Albverein. An experience of nature and fantastic views guaranteed!

From Plochingen train station, the route leads along Hermannstraße to Urbanstraße. Urbanstrasse. Take the steps to the right of the grammar school to Burgplatz, then continue up to Tannenstraße. Keep left and at the Catholic Church, cross Hindenburgstraße and take the steep path up to Panoramastraße. up to Panoramastrasse, then follow the signs to the Mariengrotte on the left.

At the Mariengrotte, a very narrow path leads off to the left. This leads to a small bridge that leads from Hermannsberg to Pfostenberg. Follow the path, which turns into a paved path that leads up to the sports facilities on the Pfostenberg. Past the sports field and parking lot into the forest.

First stay left on the main path and then turn right at the next fork. After a good kilometer, the path leads out of the forest into the orchards. Take the downhill path to the crossroads with the two benches. From there, take the narrow hiking trail (blue dot / Way of St. James) up to the rest area with the Way of St. James statue.

Turn right here and continue straight ahead until you reach Beethovenstraße. Follow the upper curve of Beethovenstraße to the end. Then take the footpath to the top left to the Albvereinsturm tower.

Take this path back again, but then continue along Stückelbergweg to Lisztstraße. Walk along Lisztstraße and follow the path into the orchards. Pass one of the benches and continue to the next junction, then take the path on the left down to Panoramastrasse and follow the steps on the opposite side of the road down to Hindenburgstrasse. Turn right there and then left down Goethestraße. Follow the steps down through the school to Urbanstraße, then back onto Hermannstraße and back to the station.
