Überlingen erkunden: Stadtrundgang 1

We have put together two tours for you that are varied and give you an overview of the city at the same time. On tour 1, you can explore the most important historical sights on your own and add a detour (tour 2).

At Landungsplatz, which was created in the 19th century as a reception area for guests arriving by ship, you will find Peter Lenk's famous fountain "Der Bodenseereiter". From there, the circular route leads past the former municipal trading and granary, the Greth, which today houses restaurants, stores, a cinema and a market hall. Continue to the Lazy Fur with the City Gallery. The former ballroom creates a charming ambience for changing exhibitions.Afterwards, cross the Hofstatt to reach the City Hall with its late Gothic council chamber and magnificent carvings. Directly opposite is the Münster St. Nikolaus (1350-1586), a five-aisled basilica that is the largest Gothic church building on Lake Constance. There is also a model of the town of Überlingen from around 1800 between the town hall and the cathedral.Past the City Archive, you will reach the Reichlin-von-Meldegg House with City Museum. In the patrician palace built in 1462 with its magnificent baroque ballroom, the museum shows permanent and annually changing special exhibitions. The path leads via the Franziskanerkirche and the Franziskanertor to the viewpoint at the Gallerturm.

Through the City Garden, which is one of the most important botanical sights on Lake Constance with its giant trees, impressive cacti, romantic rose garden and exotic plants, you reach the Badgarten with the Capuchin and Kursaal. The former garden of the former Capuchin monastery is particularly impressive due to its valuable tree population.You return to the landing site via the riverside promenade with the Zeughaus .
