The Plettenberg

It is one of the highest mountains in the Swabian Alb: at 1,002 m, the Plettenberg is one of the "ten thousand-metre peaks" of the Swabian Alb. The Alb peaks reach their highest heights on the Zollernalb and in the immediate vicinity.Its name means "the bleached one" and refers to the light-colored Jurassic limestones that make up its plateau. The Plettenberg is not only a spectacular vantage point; it is also partially designated as a nature reserve due to its botanical features (orchids, juniper heaths)

The magic horse - legend of the count's wondrous luck

Once upon a time, Count Frederick of Zollern also went to the Holy Land to fight a holy battle. There, in the midst of the terrible war, he met a stranger who gave him his horse in return for all kinds of promises. This horse, the stranger assured the count, would stay with him for the rest of his life. And so it came to pass that the faithful animal brought his master home to the Zollern after many years.Why then did it turn into three white-robed maidens who gave the count and his wife a happy life every day?
