Only flying is higher

The view from the Missionsberg tower is incomparable. And so is the nature up there

The Missionsberg circuit is around 7.5 km long and takes you right across through Mengen's town center and up Mengen's local mountain - the Missionsberg. The way back to the starting point takes us through shopping street of Mengen - the main street, with its around 100 stores and more than ten outdoor restaurants. Particularly charming is the view from the Missionsberg tower over the roofs of Mengen and into the the expanse of the Danube valley. You would have to book a sightseeing flight at the nearby airfield flight at the nearby airfield to get an even higher view.

The observation tower on the Missionsberg is home to a unique exhibition. exhibition. Six panels in the tower form a continuous collage that extends over 17 meters in height. These panels show the development of the earth, life and the evolution of mankind. But the Missionsberg is much more: a nature reserve for over 80 years, above Mengen, it extends as a kind of "green belt" over a length of about 1 km long and 400 meters wide. The Missionsberg has been considered a Emperor's time as a local recreation area and excursion destination. The Albverein and dedicated have put a lot of heart and soul into it, with benches and pavilions pavilions, staircases and enchanting arcades.

We stay on the high ground: the Missionsbergrunde takes us further south, through sunny meadows and the shady forests of Bremerholz and Granheimerholz. Granheimerholz. On the way home, our view once again sweeps far over Mengen over the Danube valley to the Alb. The 58 meters in altitude right at the beginning the two hours of walking time, and we are looking forward to stopping off at the and we look forward to stopping off at one of the many restaurants with outdoor seating in Mengen's historic half-timbered mile.
