On this cycle tour, you can expect not only a varied landscape but also unique cultural and historical sights. If you want, you can extend the tour by a few kilometers.
In the historic half-timbered town of Pfullendorf alone, there is so much to discover that it is worth planning a longer stay. For example, it is worth making a detour to the Seepark Linzgau, which has a number of attractions to offer.
The Ruhestetter Ried is still home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. Incidentally, peat (or "Wäsen") was mined here until well into the 20th century. This moor complex has been designated a nature and landscape conservation area since 1996. In 2020, the Heinz-Sielmann pond was created here, which is located directly on the cycle route.
Don't be surprised if you pass some original works of art on your way through the Ruhestetter Ried. "Neue Kunst am Ried" - a unique project with sculptures in the landscape, works made of stone, steel and wood, architecture made of living structures and various exhibitions in the gallery.
If you wish, you can extend the tour with the alternative "W2a" (+ 4 km):
In Senthart, instead of going directly to Wald, take a loop via Rast and Walbertsweiler.
