Sand und Kies

This tour takes you past the quartz sand pit of the Steidle company in Rengetsweiler and the gravel extraction area of the Valet and Ott company to Hilarihof in Otterswang.

You start at the Wald town hall. The route continues on a footpath and cycle path next to the main road to Walbertsweiler. Follow the path into the village. Once you reach the church, turn right, cross the main road, walk past the cemetery and follow the path until you reach the first gravel pit. From here, the route leads through the forest, past the sports field, on via Rengetsweiler, through a forest to the gravel extraction area of the Valet and Ott company to Hilarihof. The route continues past the Burraumühle mill and finally back to Wald. In Wald, you can end the day on one of the seating areas by the monastery pond or visit the beautiful baroque monastery church (with Aichgasser organ).
