From the Rems Valley to the royal burial chapel

Endersbach was first mentioned in a document in 1278 and is now a district of the municipality of Weinstadt. It is one of the largest wine-growing centers in Baden-Württemberg. Worth seeing are the historic buildings of the church, town hall (next to the museum), tithe barn and wine press.

Stetten together with Rommelshausen forms the municipality of Kernen. Named after the local mountain Kernen (513 m). Above Stetten, the ruins of Yburg Castle can be seen from afar on the slopes of the vineyards. Once built as a purely residential castle around 1300. Yburg Castle lost its importance over time when the moated castle was built in the valley.The core tower stands in the western part of the Schurwald. The Stuttgart chapter of the Swabian Alb Association had it built in 1896. The sandstone observation tower is 27 meters high. There is a kiosk (with refreshments) next to the tower. Open on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m., at weekends and on public holidays from 10 a.m.

The burial chapel on Württemberg was built by King William I for his beloved wife Catherine, Grand Duchess of Russia. The ancestral castle of the Württemberg family had previously been demolished. In the mausoleum in the vineyards near Rotenberg high above Stuttgart, the king rests alongside his wife. Open from March to November.
