Stausee Tafeltour

The lake landscape and panoramic views make the trail an entertaining experience. Lake Losheim, enchanted stream valleys, idyllic forest fringes and narrow meadows and forest paths make the Stausee Tafeltour a perfect hiking experience. However, the highlight remains the Losheim reservoir with its leisure activities.

The Spitzenweg trail connects the reservoir with the highest village in Saarland.

Behind the campsite, the trail runs directly along the shore of Lake Losheim. The silence here is only interrupted by the croaking of frogs or the chattering of ducks.

Between the shore area and the lakeside circular path is a marshy wooded area, which is lined with wooden stepping stones. A short time later, you can take a break at the Kneipp facility.

A few meters behind the Kneipp facility, a meadow path leads into the nearby forest. This is followed by a long, gentle climb along the Metzenbach stream to two sensory benches above an old quarry. The huge forest area of the Black Forest high forest conveys a special sense of peace and tranquillity here.Situated in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, Scheiden is 495 meters above sea level, making it the highest village in Saarland.A breathtaking panoramic view over the Saarland, Lorraine and Luxembourg from the edge of the village. From now on, the route leads downhill along paddocks and meadows to the edge of the forest. The route then leads through the forest via hollow paths, narrow paths and forest tracks into the valley until you reach Lake Losheim againThe trail has been awarded 72 experience points by the German Hiking Institute.
