Naturparke-Gravel-Crossing Tag 5 - Von Bad Wildbad nach Baiersbronn

The fifth stage takes you further through the northern Black Forest past the unique high moorland landscape of the Kaltenbronn.

From the town of Bad Wildbad, the route takes you almost 67 km through the deep Black Forest to the third stage destination of Baiersbronn. You will be rewarded with fantastic views and a varied landscape. The highlight of this tour is the unique high moor.

The landscape of the Kaltenbronn high moor is unspoilt with cirques and boulder heaps. Located at over 900 meters, the Kaltenbronn upland moor has been a nature reserve for over 60 years. You can find out more about the raised bog during a stopover at the Kaltenbronn information center.After 15 km, there is also the option of a short detour to the Hohlohturm tower, which is just 500 m off the route. If you climb the tower, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the Murg Valley and the Black Forest. On a clear day, you can even see as far as the Alps and the French Vosges mountains. The tower is open daily from 09:00 to 18:00.After two thirds of the route, you can see the Swabian Alb just before Besenfeld on a clear day, before heading back through the forest to Hutzenbach. After the descent to Hutzenbach, the route climbs again. Halfway up the climb, the magnificent view of Lake Hutzenbach invites you to take a breather. The last few kilometers to Baiersbronn finally roll downhill all by themselves.Regional shopping opportunities:
