After it was converted into a Protestant monastery school in 1556, it still houses a Protestant theological seminary today. Famous students such as Johannes Kepler, Friedrich Hölderlin and Hermann Hesse studied here, and Hesse himself described it in 1905 as "spacious, solid and well-preserved".
