Nature and culture under the sign of the maple
From above, this tour looks like a maple leaf and there are also many cultural sights along the route.
From the station, the route heads towards Blochingen. After crossing the Danube, the route climbs slowly until shortly before Heudorf. The first tip of the maple leaf is reached here. The route continues along meadows and fields to the forest. There are several Celtic graves here, including the Hohmichele. The trail continues slightly uphill through the forest. After half the distance, the path leads almost exclusively downhill to Heiligkreuztal, with a few exceptions. Here you have reached the next peak of the maple leaf and have now completed half the route. A visit to the monastery or the Häussler baking village is well worthwhile. The route continues to Binzwangen, where the Danube is crossed for the second time, to Ertingen and the third and final tip of the maple leaf is reached. Continue past the Schwarzachtal lakes to Herbertingen. With a small detour over the Göge to Ölkofen, the route leads past the Regio Aiport Mengen and back to Mengen.Source: Stadt Mengen ( ©CC 4.0)
